Coldcut means Matt Black and Jon More. These chefs ‘slice and dice very nice’. They chop and mix piece by piece, and the result is always precise!
That’s a very well known cliche to say ‘it is their best album by now’ when you first listen to a new release of a quite well known name. Well what else can you say till you hear the next best one? What would you think if i ask ‘Is there anyone remembers Top Banana computer game?’ It wasn’t a game to make u ‘go bananas’ for sure, but it was funny, stupidly funny as I remember. And the world is very small, who knows whose fingers in whose pocket… Coldcut, your nice and lovely chefs from Ninja Tune were in the team who designed that game. It is just a detail but now we are glad that our chefs didn’t lose so much time on running behind bananas. They save their time for the sake of music and ninja style tricks! As they defined again the concepts of ‘remixing’, now they are releasing their best ever album named “Sound Mirrors” which will make you ‘go bananas’ immediately. The whole work is like an ‘all star’ big band of the guests! This cast includes Roots Manuva, John Mattias, Jon Spencer, Mike Ladd, Robert Owens, Saul Williams, Annette Peacock, Andrew Broder… Even catching an eye on these names make you ants in pants to hear all the tracks. Cos while you are listening to the opening track ‘Man In A Garage’ you will already start dreaming about the next tracks on the record. Better catch this very mature delicious banana sliced nice by our chefs. Asap please.
